Emily Klassen is the new Office Manager at the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce.
The position became open after former office manager Susan Bundock retired.
Klassen said being from the Bulkley Valley region (Houston area) has been an asset.
“Being from the valley and a baseline understanding of who’s here gives me some understanding, connections, and having those really helps day to day,” she added.
She brings with her a degree in Fine Art and Design and her former local work experience.
“I was drawn to the chamber because of its strong community focus and dedication to supporting local community and businesses,” said Klassen.
Currently, she’s working on revitalizing the Tourism Centre and making it more accessible.
