The Bank of Canada has given a bit more interest rate relief, as it lowered its trend-setting rate by another quarter of a percentage point to 4.5 per cent today. (Wednesday)
It’s the second consecutive time the rate was dropped by 25 basis points.
The move was widely anticipated by experts who say inflationary pressures seem to be under control.
The rate cut comes as inflation moderated to 2.7 per cent.
