Members of the Smithers Steelheads will need soft hands in the kitchen instead of on the ice Friday.
It will be the first of 3 “Steelheads Nights,” where Smithers players will serve from 4 PM – 8 PM. In return, 10% of all proceeds will be donated back to the team.
McDonalds Owner Shane Doodson says some of them are quite good behind the counter.
“Its’ great to have them in the restaurant. we put them in a little bit of a training course and they do a good job,” he says, “some of them have come back year after year so yea, some of them are becoming experts.”
There will be two other “Steelhead Nights” this year: one on November 27th and the other on December 28th.
Last year, the three nights raised about $1000 for the team.
