The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia is warning people against driver’s fatigue.
The insurance agency says fatigue-related crashes are 58 per cent higher in July and August than they are during the rest of the year.
ICBC says it’s likely a combination of warmer weather and the longer drives people undertake as they go on holiday.
It says drivers should be aware of the signs of fatigue, and pull over for a rest if they’re tired.
ICBC reports that on average, 24 people are injured in 130 crashes in North Central B.C. every year on the B.C. Day long weekend.
