Sunny long weekend expected in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District

The Bulkley Valley and Lakes District can expect one last taste of summer over the Labour Day long weekend.

That’s according to Environment Canada, adding rain is not in the forecast.

Meteorologist Ken Dosanjh said the hottest day will be tomorrow (Saturday) with a high of 25 degrees.

“As we look Tuesday onwards, we’re going to notice another ridge of high-pressure build so temperatures will rebound into the low to mid 20s,” he said.

A few clouds are expected through the region.

Dosanjh added preliminary numbers suggest August has been on the dry end.

“Seems like the [Smithers] Airport saw 7.2 millimetres with the average August seeing 43 to 44 millimetres,” he said.
