Trudeau Sworn in, Cabinet named

Justin Trudeau was sworn in as the 23rd Canadian Prime Minister in Ottawa this morning.

Telkwa Councilor and former Skeena – Bulkley Valley Liberal candidate Brad Layton says Canada is in good hands, and it’s important the public stay engaged in the federal government.

“We need to make sure that they stay on track (with their promises) and we’ll work towards that, I know I will myself keep involved and I’m sure Canadians because Mr. Trudeau said he would engage us, will keep doing that,” he says.

Layton adds there is a lot in Trudeau’s platform that can benefit Northwest BC.

“I’m just hoping that we can access as much of (Trudeau’s platform benefits) as possible and even with having an NDP MP here I’m sure he’s going to work hard, and I’m going to stay involved myself, and we’re going to see what we can get into the Northwest.”
