Planned outage to affect 10,500 BC Hydro customers

It might be time to double check your flashlight batteries. 

BC Hydro is planning to turn off power for 10,500 customers tomorrow (Sunday) between 7:00 and 5:00. 

This will affect several communities along Highway 16, including: 

• Carnaby 

• Cedarvale 

• Gitanmaax 

• Gitanyow 

• Gitsegukla 

• Glen Vowell 

• Hagwilget 

• Hazelton 

• New Hazelton 

• South Hazeltown 

• Smithers 

• Kispiox 

• Kitwancool 

• Kitwanga 

• Moricetown 

• Telkwa 

• Sik E Dakh 

• Two Mile 

This is so crews can move an existing 138 kilovolt transmission line near Telkwa in preparation of a new capacitor station, part of the Prince George to Terrace Capacitors Stations Project.
