As of noon today (Wednesday), all open fires are allowed in the Northwest Fire Centre.
The last ban in effect was a category three restriction for the southern interior part of the centre.
This was done as cooler and wetter temperatures have significantly reduced the wildfire risk in the region.
While fires are now allowed, the fire centre still strongly encourages residents to exercise caution with any outdoor burning and campfire use.
For category three blazes, this includes checking local venting conditions prior to lighting a fire and to understand all other obligations associated with regulations.
Category one and two fires were allowed on August 28th, with the category three ban in the north and costal parts of the centre also dropping that day.
