The Smithers Steelheads are getting ready for a home double header this weekend.
“Overall, we should be confident,” said new Head Coach Dave Tucker.
He was previously a coach for the team near when they started and since has been a minor hockey coach.
“I’ve just been watching the current team after Jeremy Chadsay got it rolling again and started to be fairly interested last year on how things were looking good,” Tucker said.
He added the team has been upbeat and positive since returning to the team.
While observing the team’s performance last year, he said there was a change in how the team played.
“Part way through last year, I really noticed that the guys were starting to play a system and more as a team and that was very nice to see,” said Tucker.
This is something he hopes to continue improving on through the season.
On Saturday, the team hosts the Quesnel Kangaroos and Sunday the Williams Lake Stampeders.
