A health fair is being hosted by the BC Community Response Network (CRN) in Smithers on Wednesday of next week (October 23rd)
“What we are trying to do is bring private practitioners in Smithers and help people know everything Smithers has to offer,” said CRN Smithers Coordinator Clara Donnelly.
Health fairs like this one have been held in the past, with the last one about 10 years ago.
“It’s a lot of work getting everybody involved and there’s so many things logistically so I couldn’t have done it alone,” she said.
Some of the resources expected to be at the fair include:
- BC Schizophrenia Society
- Northwest Child Development Centre
- Ministry of Child and Family Development
- Northwest Brian Injury Association
Other agencies and organizations are also expected to be at the event.
The event’s focus was primarily on seniors but is open for anyone to attend.
It will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Smithers Christian Reformed Church.
