BC Hydro is planning a power outage in Houston that will affect just under 700 customers.
The work will run from 7 p.m. on October 28th to 7 a.m. the next morning.
“The driver behind this is some system maintenance and upgrades, specifically some elbows that carry the [power] lines underground,” said Spokesperson Dave Mosure.
He added the properties affected are those towards the east side of Houston.
With the outage occurring overnight, Mosure recommended to plan anything that requires power before the 7 p.m. shut off.
“Warm the house up before the power goes off; maybe a degree or two warmer. If you have access to a secondary heat source, that could also be helpful,” he said.
While this is a planned outage, it’s also recommended to make sure you have an emergency kit on standby in case of an outage.
