It was a normal October this year in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District in terms of the weather.
That’s according to Environment Canada with the mean temperature sitting at 4.9 degrees.
“The normal mean temperature is 4.4, so about 0.5 degrees above normal but within the bounds of what we consider normal,” said Meteorologist Brian Proctor.
Some snow has fallen in the downtown areas but didn’t stick around with 59.8 millimetres of precipitation.
The average seen for October is 64.4 millimetres.
“We were a little bit warmer last year than we were this year,” Proctor added.
Looking ahead into November, the weather is expected to remain near normal for the region.
“We’ve got a system coming through mid-next week that does look like it could put some precipitation in the valley bottom from a snow point of view,” said Proctor.
Temperatures are also expected to remain near normal through November.
