Power has been restored to the 1,800 customers affected by the power outage this morning.
According to BC Hydro, a substation failure caused the outage.

Crews are on scene according to BC Hydro with power expected to be restored by 8:30.
The outage cause remains under investigation.

About 1,800 Smithers residents lost power this morning (Wednesday) according to BC Hydro.
Power was reported off at 6:58 with crews assigned and no estimated time back on as of 7:20.
Properties affected are west of Tatlow Road and south of Boyle Road
