BC Hydro has issued a notice about several power outages last night (Wednesday) in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.
This comes after 1,800 customers lost power yesterday morning in Smithers with another 1,900 affected around Burns Lake.
Those have since been resolved.
Below is what the power company posted to their website just before 9:00 last night.:
“Strong winds have caused outages to nearly 2,000 customers in Smithers, Telkwa High Road, Houston, Decker Lake and Burns Lake.
All available crews will continue to work through the night to make repairs and restore power.
At this time, we expect some customers in these areas will remain without power overnight.
Updates for individual outages and estimated restoration times will be posted as they’re available.
Thank you for your patience.”
18 smaller power outages continue to affect about 750 customers in the region.
A full list of outages can be found on BC Hydro’s website.
