New scholarship aims to help students study closer to home

A new scholarship is being offered to top high school students in northwest BC.

The New Northern Learner Entrance Award was started by Coast Mountain College (CMTN) and the CMTN Foundation.

“Often top students have their choice of many different college and university offers but students who start their education at a community college are much more likely to finish their degree on time when they transfer to a university,” says Dr. Laurie Waye, President & CEO of Coast Mountain College,

Each of the 22 high schools from Haida Gwaii to Houston will have a student awarded with a 23rd available for students who were home schooled.

The total maximum value for the awards is $8,300.
