With the recent snowfall in the Bulkley Valley, Hudson Bay Mountain will be opening their slopes early.
This year, the resort planned on opening a week from Saturday (Dec. 7) and the snow wasn’t their only reason for opening on Saturday. (Nov. 30)
“We looked at [the snow], we looked at what the forecast had in store, and the fact we have returning staff this year,” said General Manager Lex Rei-Jones.
Because it is early in the season, she added there are some things to keep in mind when visiting.
“Always be aware. Keep in mind it is early in the season and to watch out for rocks, creeks, twigs, and stuff.”
A contest is also being run on Hudson Bay Mountain’s Facebook page to win VIP passes for opening weekend.
“Coming up this weekend would be a great time to get that picture for our VIP contest,” said Rei-Jones.
Passes for this pre-season weekend are being sold for 50% off.
