Update: 9:56 a.m., December 2nd:
Power was restored to Smithers customers affected by a power outage that lasted just under an hour.
What caused the outage remains under investigation.
Original Story:
Over 1,000 residents in Smithers are without power according to BC Hydro.
This includes customers north of Creekside Street, west of Old Babine Lake Road, south of Montreal Street, east of Second Avenue
The power went off just after 9:00 this morning (Monday) with no reason for the outage available.
Crews have been assigned to the incident and there is no estimated time when it will be restored.
