November saw above average rain and snow in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District according to Environment Canada.
95 millimetres of rain and snow fell while the average is 55 millimetres.
“That makes it the ninth wettest November on record,” said Meteorologist Trevor Smith.
Temperatures were slightly above average at –1.7 degrees compared to –2.1.
“[Last year] was a very different month. The average temperature was 0.9, there was only 32 millimetres of total precipitation, and there was no snow on the ground,” said Smith.
For most of the month, snow remained absent from the ground with the last four days producing 41 centimetres.
This week, above freezing lows are expected to remain until this weekend where a flash freeze warning may be issued.
“It looks like it could happen as early as Friday night where we see that rapid cooling off,” Smith said.
