Shelves at the Houston Community Service Association Food Bank were stocked after Cram the Cruiser on Saturday.
During the annual event, residents donate non-perishable food items and money towards the food bank previously operated by the Salvation Army.
“We saw so many volunteers from the ambulance service, fire department, victim services, and other volunteers,” said Executive Director Tracey Keel.
Over $3,000 was raised with several totes of food items also collected for the food bank.
“Lucky for us, the food bank is situated right next to Buy-Low Foods so the volunteers would collect the bins and just wheel them directly to the food bank,” she said.
The Community Service took over from the Salvation Army on November 5th, retaining all the staff, equipment, and stock that was there.
