Gorbahn moving up to NCAA school UNR

One local golfer is moving onward and upward through the levels of American college golf.

Kaleb Gorbahn will begin attending the Univeristy of Nevada-Reno in January, after spending the last year-and-a-half at Holy Cross College in Indiana.

In his time at the NAIA school, he’s set school records like best individual score and most consecutive top-5 finishes.

Gorbahn knows attending a new school, making new friends, and playing with new teammates will be a difficult adjustment.

“I’m going from 450 kids to 20,000 students at the school and that in itself is going to be a huge transition from small to big,” he says.

However, he says it’s the next step in becoming the best golfer he can be

“It’s something that was always the goal and I feel like I’d fit more into a bigger place. It’s going to be difficult at first, but I think in the long run it’s going to be something that I’m going to love.”

Gorbahn will join a team of sophomores, who were ranked the NCAA’s best freshman class last year.
