The Della Herman Theatre in Smithers is gearing up for a concert next Wednesday. (Jan 22)
The T Buckley Trio from Calgary, comprised of Tim Buckley, Mitch Jay, and Jesse Dollimont, bring a folk americana style of music with them, having won several Canadian music awards.
“We’re an acoustic group so I play acoustic guitar, another plays banjo and dobro, and Jesse plays mandolin and guitar,” said Buckley.
He added the group likes performing around one microphone to bring an “old school blue grass aesthetic”.
Buckley’s been writing and performing for about 15 years with this trip bringing him to the Bulkley Valley for the first time.
“I’ve heard lots of great things about it from some friends that have toured [in the region] so I’m really excited for our show there.”
That morning, he plans on performing at Telkwa Elementary for students attending the school.
Opening for the group is Elijah Quinn from Smithers.
The evening show starts at 7:30 with tickets available at Mountain Eagle Books and online.
