Tyhee Optometry is hosting a grand opening tonight (Friday) in Smithers after starting to take patients in December.
Dr. Lindsey Brise started the clinic with her husband after practicing in Williams Lake for the past five years.
“I grew up in Telkwa and the opportunity arose to open a clinic in Smithers and move back home,” Brise said.
She added the journey to opening day was both fun and terrifying.
“We had an amazing contractor, so the build went smooth, and we’ve managed to find some amazing staff.”
Since starting to take patients, Brise said feedback has been positive.
Prior to opening, FYi Doctors was the only optometrist in Smithers.
The event starts at 4:00 p.m. at Tyhee Optometry.
