Lakes District Hospital and Health Centre completed

The Lakes District Hospital and Health Centre has now been completed, 6 months ahead of schedule.

The 65,000-square foot project began in January 2014, and includes 16 beds, home- and community-care, and was designed to be very energy-efficient.

Regional Director Mike Hoefer says a modernized hospital will benefit staff, patients, and the community.

“Improved functionality of space, better care for patients and clients and actually better working conditions for staff because the facility is top notch and built to those new standards,” he says.

The $55-million building was funded by the Provincial government and the Stuart-Nechako Regional Hospital District.
