Smithers RCMP is investigating numerous break and enters that occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Seven local businesses were broken into and had goods stolen. Entrance was attempted on another two businesses, however, these attempts were unsuccessful.
Forensic Identification Services has been visiting the different scenes collecting evidence. The team will also help Police study surveillance footage.
Smithers RCMP is requesting that anyone with information about these incidents, or who might have witnessed suspicious behaviour on or in the area of Main Street Sunday night, call the Smithers RCMP or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
