This summer will be a little quieter in the Kispiox Valley.
Today (Thursday), the Kispiox Valley Music Festival Society announced they will be taking a pause this year from running their annual Music Festival.
“Over the past few years, this amazing event has only grown in popularity, with attendance reaching all-time highs in recent years,” the society said on its Facebook page.
“It’s been incredible to see this community come together in such a big way, but we’ve also reached a point where, in more ways than one, the event is being pushed to the limits.”
Through the break, they hope to restructure how the festival is organized and come up with new ideas to implement in 2026.
They’re also planning public engagement opportunities through this year to learn what the public would like to see changed.
“We deeply appreciate your patience and enthusiasm as we take this year to reflect and rebuild. We will keep you updated on our progress, and we look forward to working together to create a festival that is stronger and more sustainable,” said the society.
