A Burns Lake group has been recognized by the ALS Society of B.C. in their annual Volunteerism & Service Awards.
Raffle for a Quilt organizers Barb Durban-Wilson, Ronda Payne, Jenny Pirie, and Adrienne Hiebert were given the Exceptional Fundraising Award, group category.
This is presented to a group of individuals who have demonstrated excellence in organizing and executing a fundraising program or event.
They were one of 13 recipients announced with the program celebrating volunteerism and service around Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) patients, their families, and caregivers.
“We are immensely grateful for our volunteers’ unwavering support, commitment, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS and PLS,” said Donald Miyazaki, Executive Director of the ALS Society of BC.
The award will be presented to the group on April 4th in Vancouver.
