First Nations artists from across Northern BC are being sought by the Smithers Art Gallery.
This is for their Northern Indigenous Perspectives exhibit happening set to run June 11th to July 7th.
“The first time we offered it was in 2022, and it was super exciting,” said Manager Nicole Chernish.
“We were able to reach out across the region and have artists from Prince Rupert to Prince George and a little bit beyond.”
She added various art pieces could be submitted into the show including traditional Indigenous art.
“It’s just creating that breath of experience for the artists and the opportunity to show in a professional visual arts space.”
Artists residing in, or that have a connection to the region are able to submit their work into the exhibit.
They will then be passed to an indigenous selection committee before making it into the event.
The deadline for artists to submit is April 30th.
