February was a tale of hot and cold in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.
According to Environment Canada, the average temperature was 1.3 degrees below normal.
“That’s basically just due to the significant cold felt in the first half of the month,” said Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Lisa Erzen.
She added 11.6 millimetres of precipitation fell through the month which is about 50 per cent of normal.
The start of March is expected to remain normal in terms of temperature with the potential for snow starting on Thursday.
The region is also under a dust advisory which will remain in effect until it rains.
A full forecast for Smithers and Burns Lake can be found on Environment Canada’s website.
