Bachrach reacts positively to new BC pharmacare deal

Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach said the recent $670 million pharmacare deal between B.C. and the federal government will provide much needed help.

In the statement, he added this will cover diabetes medication, contraceptives, and free hormone replacement therapy to treat menopause symptoms.

“No one should be forced to put their health at risk because they can’t afford the medications they need and this agreement will be a gamechanger for so many folks in the northwest,” said Bachrach.

He added increasing cost of living and tariff threats from the US add more importance that the deal went through.

“I’m proud to have been part of the work that puts the well-being of the people ahead of the profits of the big pharmaceutical companies.”

The four-year deal will start in March 2026.
