Recreation agreement signed between Burns Lake and Ts’il Kaz Koh

A five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed yesterday (Monday) between the Village of Burns Lake and the Ts’il Kaz Koh.

This is to help guide collaboration on planning, funding, developing, and maintaining recreational infrastructure in the community.

“We are thrilled to work together to build recreational spaces that benefit out residents and strengthen our communities,” said Chief Wes Sam.

“This agreement is a testament to our shared vision for a vibrant, connected future.”

The MOU also focuses on promoting health and wellbeing, creating accessible recreation, and ensure future infrastructure reflects the cultural, social, and environmental values of the involved communities.

“Investing in recreation helps foster community connections, supports local businesses, and makes our region a better place to live, work, and play,” said Mayor Henry Wiebe.
