A shots fired call from Grassy Plains was received by the Burns Lake RCMP on Sunday at about 3:30 p.m.

Police said they responded with ERT assistance, and 32-year-old Gerald Noth was located shooting firearms and said nobody was injured.

He was arrested without incident and charged with possessing weapon for dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possess firearm without a license and/or registration.

“All parties involved are known to each other and the RCMP do not believe there to be a further risk to the public. We continue to work with the Cheslatta Carrier Nation for the safety of the community,” said Staff Sergeant Josh Smith, NCO i/c Burns Lake RCMP.

Noth was released with conditions for a future court date.
