Bulkley Valley Community Foundation helps 22 organizations with funding

Over $90,000 in grants were given out by the Bulkley Valley Community Foundation to 22 organizations.

Smithers recipients were:

  • Bulkley Senior Citizens Housing Society ($5,000)
  • Bulkley Valley Museum ($1,000)
  • 1st Smithers Scouts Group ($3,500)
  • Bulkley Valley Cross Country Ski Club ($6,500)
  • Friends of the Smithers Library ($2,000)
  • Skeena Knowledge Trust ($4,500)
  • Bulkley Valley Research Centre ($2,100)
  • Valley Youth Fiddlers ($6,000)
  • Smithers Community Services Association ($6,000)
  • Smithers Zone – Canadian Ski Patrol ($2,500)
  • St. Joseph’s Catholic School ($5,500)

Recipients from elsewhere in the region were:

  • Wrinch Memorial Foundation ($5,000)
  • Hazelton District Public Library ($1,000)
  • Old Town Storytellers Society ($5,000)
  • Wrinch Memorial Foundation ($4,000)
  • Houston Hospice Society ($6,000)
  • Houston Secondary School Art Program ($2,000)
  • A Rocha Canada ($3,500)
  • Telkwa Elementary School PAC ($2,000)
  • ASTC Science World Society ($3,000)
  • Variety – The Children’s Charity of BC ($9,000)

Their grant program runs annually with applications opening on October 15th.
