The Houston Figure Skating Club closed out its season with a circus on ice featuring 29 local skaters.
For about 20 years, the club has put on a show to end the season with various different themes.
“This year was circus and last year was a beach theme so it varies and is something fun and can make a lot of different costumes for,” said President Airiyel Sjoden.
She added there was a strong turnout with feedback being positive.
“I think lots of [the performers] were sad that the season was over with but were mostly happy,” Sjoden said.
The group also hosts a gala in December and travels to various competitions through the season.
“We usually have skaters attend Kla How Ya which is the main regional competition and there’s also a couple jamborees we try and attend,” said Sjoden.
One of their skaters graduated this year and registration for the new season starts in September.
