The Bulkley Valley Arts Council is setting up to host their Valley Variety show in Smithers.
This is part of their Arts on Stage series held every two years to help raise funds for their annual scholarship award.
“We’ve had a pretty wide range of performers come forward wanting to perform and we really like to highlight our members,” said Secretary Pamela Haasen.
She added 12 participants have been lined up to perform this year and are working to try and fit in more.
This includes various musical performances, dancers, comedy, and a podcast recording.
During the off years, the council hosts various other events including Masquerade last year.
“This one is the same where it ranges in the genres of art and these are mostly on stage,” Haasen said.
Their $1,500 scholarship is given to a high school student in the Bulkley Valley looking to pursue study in creative endeavors.
“That could be stage tech, sculpture, audio production, and things like that,” said Hassen.
The show runs April 4th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Mountain Eagle Books, Mills, and at the door.
