The District of Houston is warning of a fungus affecting trees in the community.
Black Knot affects prunus trees like mayday, plum, cherry, and chokecherry with no chemical treatments available.
According to the district, pruning trees is essential and they are offering free disposal of trimmings between April 14th and 25th.
Pickups can be registered by calling the district at (250) 845-2238.
