A little snow and hail didn’t stop over 100 kids from taking over Ranger Park as part of the annual Smithers Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.
It was put on by Smithers Children to Children of Ukraine and was the largest participant group in the three years it’s run.
“We’re raising donations for children in need in Ukraine and is a very important fundraiser for us,” said Co-organizer Tanya Lychak-Tanner.
About $3,000 was raised through ticket purchases and general donations.
At the event, eggs were hidden throughout the park with two gold eggs that were claimed for prizes.
“It’s the perfect location because it’s a nice open field with trees and lots of places to hide the eggs,” Lychak-Tanner added.
Face painting, food, tug of war, various donated prizes, and other games were also available.
