The Town of Smithers will welcome a new head of staff in the new year.
Anne Yanciw has been named the Town’s new Chief Administrative Officer, a position that’s been open since September.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach says her first order of business will be getting to know Smithers.
“Getting settled in the community, sitting down with Council and becoming familiar with what our agenda is, and most importantly getting to know the staff,” he says, “the CAO works in Town Hall and works directly with the senior management team so building those relationships right at the beginning is very key.”
Yanciw grew up in Burns Lake and has 17 years of experience in local government, working in Calgary, Valemont, and Lions Bay.
