The Smithers Motocross Association is looking for new land to hold races but in the meantime have been granted an extension to stay at the Donaldson Road track.
SMXA president Aaron Miles says the Regional District has concerns about the liabilities of allowing the racers to stay on the lot where they have built a racing course, but they will allow the group to stay for another year.
“We are just looking for other places and it is going really slow right now. We are just working with the regional district right now and we will see where that takes us. We have got places to ride each year so far we have got extensions so that’s all we want,is a place to ride. So this is fine for right now.”
He says this summer races will still be held at the Donaldson Road location including fun races in June and September and a official competition in July.
