54-40 to play Telkwa this summer

The Telkwa Kinsmen have announced that 54-40 will be coming to Telkwa this summer.

Kinsman, Mike Henfrey says the Kinsmen and the Smithers Saltos Gymnastics are putting on the July 18th concert.

Henfrey says they were able to book the band after hearing that they would be holding a concert in Bella Coola.

“A buddy of mine has an app on his phone that tells him when one of the bands on his phone are performing close to him. So he said, ‘You know 54-40 are performing up here in July. You should try to get them’ And so we did.”

The concert will be on the stage at the Telkwa Barbecue Grounds.

Henfrey says The Racket, voted best B.C. teen band in 2013 will be opening the show.

He says he hopes people will buy their tickets early because if the hosts get a sense of how well it will sell they are able to reinvest into making the show even better.
