The Burns Lake RCMP are investigating a hit and run.
Sgt. Grant MacDonald says shortly after 2:30 am on Saturday a car struck one of two adolescent females who were walking near the Real Canadian Wholesale Gas Bar on Highway 16.
“The driver of an eastbound blue-coloured car veered towards the pedestrians and struck a 16-year-old female. The driver of the blue car exited the car and proceeded to load the pedestrian into the car before transporting the two pedestrians to the Lakes District Hospital.”
MacDonald says the driver then left the hospital before police arrived.
The vehicle was later discovered the vehicle at a property east of Burns Lake but the driver has yet to come forward.
The police are asking that anyone with information about the incident contact the Burns Lake RCMP or CrimeStoppers.
