The first physical steps to a Smithers sign bylaw resolution could be taken tonight.
Both Town Council and local businesses have spent weeks addressing illegal signs and discussing possible solutions.
Town Staff will propose a plan of action tonight which includes a 13-question public survey.
Some questions would include resident’s thoughts on the bylaw’s evolutions and downtown aesthetics.
If approved, the surveys would be available starting Thursday, December 10th. Downtown signage tours would also be scheduled for mid-January.
Council is also expected to adopt the backyard hen bylaw this evening.
Originally brought forward in August, Council has discussed the bylaw many times.
Adoption was expected in mid-November and again at the last meeting. The decision was postponed to alter the amount of hens per nesting box from 1 to 4.
Council invites the public to tonight’s meeting at 6:30 in the Town Chambers. This will be the last meeting of the year.
