Burns Lake society gets gaming grant money

The Lakes District Family Enhancement Society is receiving provincial grant money for its operations.

The society is getting over $66,000 in B.C. gaming grant funds.

Society secretary, Jessica Hart says the money will go towards the group’s Burns Lake food bank.

“The money from the province goes to assist with the cost for food and the cost of rent of the food bank. The food bank is run entirely by volunteers which is wonderful. We are thankful for the volunteers who donate their time so that this funding allows us to purchase more food for the facility.”

In a press release, MLA John Rustad says the money will go a long way to assisting local families and building a stronger, healthier community.
