Vancouver Canucks defenceman Dan Hamhuis will be out “at least two months” as he recovers from a facial fracture.
The 32-year-old from Smithers suffered a broken jaw and lost some teeth after he took a Dan Boyle slapshot in the face during the Canucks 2-1 win Wednesday over the New York Rangers.
Hamhuis, who is a minority owner of the Prince George Cougars, underwent surgery today.
The Canucks resume action Sunday in Chicago to begin a 6-game road trip.
