Air Quality Advisory ended in Houston, not Smithers

The air quality advisory for Houston has ended.

Much of the harmful particulate has been carried away on the recent light winds.

This has dropped the particulate levels well below the Provincial threshold.

The advisory lasted about 7 hours, spanning Friday from 9 AM – 4 PM.

The Ministry of Environment says a reduction in wood burning will result in cleaner air.

As of 6:30 PM Friday, the air quality advisory in Smithers was still in effect. It began at 10 AM Thursday.
