A couple of driving bans and an impaired driving charge has been laid against a 23-year old Smithers man.
Police responded to a single vehicle accident on Owens Road near Highway 16 after a Dodge truck made contact with a telephone pole Wednesday morning.
After the accident, police say the driver attempted to get his vehicle out of the ditch and then ran into the forest.
Local RCMP searched the wooded area and located the male. Police say he was the registered owner of the truck.
He received a 24 hour driving ban, a 90 day driving ban along with a charge of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
