It was a good year for tourism in Smithers.
In the last year, the town’s Visitor Centre saw a 17-percent increase in touring groups. There was also a 21-percent increase in individual travelers.
The busiest months of the year were April, May, and September.
Most international visitors traveled from Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands, with some coming as far as Korea and Argentina.
The Centre’s vehicle helped another 350 people at local hot spots and campgrounds.
