The Village of Burns Lake is making a bid for this year’s title of Kraft Hockeyville.
The annual event aims to bring hockey-loving communities together. Winners receive $100,000 for arena improvements and host an NHL pre-season game.
Co-ordinator James Stadey believes the Village will band together for the local arena.
“That’s what they do in this town, they usually come together in times of need.’ he says, if we need a roof and wheelchair accessibility for the arena, I’m sure if we get that out there people would come in and vote.”
Nominations end on February 7th, the top ten will be on March 5.
