There has been a water main break in Smithers, on the corner of Highway 16 and Schibli Street.

WATER RETURNED TO ALL CUSTOMERS.
REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE.

Workers are forced to shut off water in Schibli subdivisions and Mountainview Motel. Water will now be turned on and off throughout repairs.
UPDATE – 12:00 PM
Water has been restored to all private residents.
Most businesses along Highway 16 between Schibli Street and Toronto Street again have water, however, KFC, Total Floors, Copper River Plumbing & Heating LTD., and Free-Lance Auto are among the few still without.
Crews recently began digging and expect to be working for most of the day.
Works & Operations Director Roger Smith still hopes to have everything fixed today.
UPDATE – 9:50 AM
The water has been shut off in the area, affecting the residents in the nearby subdivision and the businesses along Highway 16 between Schibli Street and Toronto Street.
Crews are waiting to hear back from Pacific Northern Gas, BC Hydro, and BC One Call before they can start on the repairs. Works & Operations Director Roger Smith hopes to have everything fixed today.
Expect driving delays in both directions while workers are on site.
The town will provide drinking water for all affected.
