The Steelheads will hit the ice at home for game 2 of their opening round playoffs Saturday night.

The fish lead the best-of-3 series 1-0 after a 9-4 victory last weekend in Kitimat.

A Smithers win will end the Ice Demons’ season, so Steelheads Coach Tom DeVries expects his opponents to come out flying.

“For sure they’re going to come and get at us as hard as they can. Anything can happen, you know you run into a hot goalie, get into some bad luck and then you fall behind and you’re panicking but I’m confident that we’ll do well,” he says.

Puck drop is tonight at the Civic Centre at 7:30. If a third game is needed, it’ll be Sunday at 1:30 in Smithers.
