Cuba reflects on “great time” to GRAMMYs

Alex Cuba has returned home from his trip to the GRAMMYs.
His 2015 album “Healer” was nominated for the “Best Latin Pop Album” of the year. He says he was full of anticipation when the nominees were read.

“Of course, 30 seconds before they announce your category your heart is beating super fast. In 30 seconds, my name could change forever. ‘GRAMMY-winning artist Alex Cuba!'” he says.

Unfortunately for Alex, Ricky Martin took home this year’s “Best Latin Pop Album” award.

“Let’s put it this way. It’s hard to beat Ricky Martin, he’s a very handsome boy!”

All-in-all, he said spending time in the sunny, 31-degree LA weather was a great experience.

“It was wonderful we had a great time. We had fun, there was time for celebration, time for networking, meeting some colleagues from the injury. We feel like we had a very good trip.”

Next up for Alex, he’ll be flying to his native country Thursday to host a docu-series about Cuban artists.

He’s also got another shot at winning an award. He’s nominated for a JUNO, which will be on April 3rd in Calgary.
